Filipino WordPress community and WordCamp Philippines 2010, October 2, 2010, College of Saint Benilde in Manila

Once in a while, I like being a student, just listen to lectures given by persons who are experts in their own field, though they are much younger than me. As a teacher to college students for the last 6 years, once in a while I sit, take down notes and learn about word press and blogging.

“Word press takes care of 80 – 90 % of mechanics of SEO.”
“SEO can do only so much; it can only be as good as what’s on your blog.”
“Keep your blog simple and focus on your content”
Markku Sequerra

“ I honestly see blogging as a means to getting things done (and living the dream while you’re at it)”
“Put out great work and the internet will reward you.”
“On blogging with passion; it should adhere to certain standards, there is a clear goal and “unity of life”.
Jayvee Fernandez

“On social media; it is building relationship with humans. At the end of the day , its all about relationship and people you meet on the web.”
Rob Angeles

“On bloggers obligation: the three main functions of blogging are information, education and entertainment. A blogger has several options, limited only by his or her imagination.”
Danilo Arao

“Five out of 20  Filipinos  are online. There are 24 internet users in the Philippines and their age range is 10-39 years old. Search is a universal consumer behavior and it is also the next popular after email.”
Aileen Apollo-de Jesus

Thank you WordCamp 2010, it was also a great bonding day with my kids , a respite from my usual daily activities.
