I was able to attend the first Celebrity Cook –off Challenge sponsored by Doña Elena Cuisinera Club held at Annabelle’s Restaurant at T. Morato Quezon City. In the competition, celebrities and guest displayed their culinary genius in preparing appetizing Filipino dishes using Doña Elena olive oil.

Guest celebrities Gladys Reyes and Bernadette Allyson displayed their skills in preparing a meal using Doña Elena products such as Pure Olive oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Del Monte Fit ‘n Right launch its newest campaign Dare to be Fit ‘N Right . The campaign features the revolutionary F.I.T workout by sports scientist and Master Coach Jim Saret. well known core training expert and a sports and fitness writer and lecturer. At present Master Coach Jim Saret is Sports Program Head of the Ateneo de Manila University and the Strength and Conditioning Coach of the PBA, POC, and the PSC.

The F.I.T Workout or the Fast Interval Training is a four-minute workout, characterized by fast bursts of intensive exercise that makes you burn at least 400 calories and continues to burn even when you’re done with the workout!

FIT wrkout

It was demonstrated to us bloggers and lo and behold, true to its claim, it was able to burn more than 400 calories,. After the 4 minute workout, 96 calories were lost and in a span of 30 -45 minutes, more tan 400 calories even if one stopped working out. It just consists of body movements and the exercise doesn’t require much space and equipment.

The famous training guru even expressed that if you partner your F.I.T workout with your Fit ‘n Right fruit juice drink, you’ll see faster results for Del Monte Fit ‘N Right contains the breakthrough L-Carnitine that helps burn fat and B Vitamis 1, 6, 12 that help speed up metabolism.

A clinical study done by the University of the Philippines through Dra. Leonora Panlasigui and company has proven the effectiveness of Fit ‘n Right. In that study, it was found that one can lose as such as 16.7% body fat in just 6 weeks with regular consumption of Fit ‘n Right, diet and exercise. There are studies that indicate that 1000mg per day is ideal in helping you lose weight along with proper diet and regular exercise. Each Fit ‘n Right bottle contains 300mg and the recommended daily intake is at least 3 bottles, at least 2 hours before exercise or physical activity to maximize the fat-burning benefit.

Fit n rgt

B Vitamins 1, 6 and 12 are known as energy boosters and they help reduce fatigue and increase endurance by facilitating conversion of carbohydrates, protein and fat into energy.  With L-Carnitine, B Vitamins can optimize metabolization of carbohydrates, protein and fat into energy.

I keep on hearing testimonies that Fit and Right really works. As a doctor at times I’m hesitant with such claims, but as I watched and hear the explanations of Coach Saret, about his F.I.T Workout approach and Fit and Right I am convinced about its effect on ones’ metabolism.

Now, who says you can’t have fun while working out and losing all those calories and unwanted fats? Who says you can’t have a refreshing way to burn?

Dare to be the first to try the F.I.T Workout. Dare to be the first to know about it. Dare to be fit. Dare to be right.

Local Nursing Board Exams Tips

by Anna Katharina on October 20, 2009

in Nurse Quad,Review,School

The next local nursing board examinations for nursing will be on the last week of November 2009. I took my nursing board examinations in December 2003. I have been teaching nursing students since 2005 and as I read board examination review questions, I find them at times hard for me to answer even if I have taught most of the major subjects in nursing care management.

Staying focus and being diligent in reading review questions is one of the main keys in preparing yourself for the local nursing board examinations. Its like exercising your mind everyday to read nursing board type examination questions because on the day of the exam itself you will probably tackle at least 500 questions in a span of 6-8 hours. At the same time analyze each question in choosing the best answer.

You have to get used to it, which is reading and analyzing questions. Take this practice everyday, 100 questions in a span of 1- and a half hour or 9o minutes, an average of answering one question per minute.

For now, I think it is the best you can do, answering and analyzing board examination type questions, rather than reading lecture notes. Application of test taking strategies will also be of help.

For more local board examination tips, take this from littlenars.com , a June 2009 board passer.

Hurray for Adrian Jeric Pena! His Brinknotes Entertainment Daily Podcast was chosen as Best Podcast in the 3rd Philippine BLog Awards held October 9, 2009 at the PETA Theater in Quezon City.

As I look back through the years when I used to buy him microphone as a toy since he was a toddler, I must have brought him around 20 microphones as each would always break down (you know how kids play) and play with his mini karaoke ( a gift during his nursery graduation).

Two years ago, I was so hesitant to buy him his Samson microphone, as he was telling me that he needs it to improve his podcast recordings. Little did I know that he was doing podcast since 2005, and he was even mentioned as one of the first teen to do podcast based in the Philippines according to an Inquirer article about podcast.

10 years has passed since he was tinkering with our computer. Now, he has really made used of his talent. All I thought is that all of these are part of his hobbies as a growing adult. I never thought this would really make us all proud.

Congratulations Jeric! Once more, you made Mama, Dianne and Roxanne and the rest of the family doubly HAPPY and PROUD.

To the PBA 2009 board of judges, officers and management, thank you for allowing my son to hone his talents and be recognized. This means so much to us.
